As part of the preparation of the first national debate to be organized by the Moroccan Association of the Presidents of the Councils of Prefectures and Provinces, on December 13 and 14, 2019 under the theme “The Councils of Prefectures and Provinces and the convergence of public policies on the management of affairs relating to children in precarious situations”. An interactive study day was organized on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Agadir, in cooperation with the Provincial Council of Agadir Ida OuTanane, around the theme: “childhood and school dropout”.
The work of this workshop was opened with a speech by the President of the Prefectural Council of Agadir Ida OuTanane, Mr. Lahcen Bijdiken, as well as with a speech by the Secretary-General of the Wilaya, representing the Wali of the Souss-Massa Region, Governor of the Prefecture of Agadir Ida OuTanane.
Subsequently, Mr. Abdallah Ghazi, Vice-President of the Moroccan Association of the Presidents of the Councils of Prefectures and Provinces and President of the Provincial Council of Tiznit, took the floor, evoking the context of the organization of the first debate on childhood and social precariousness and thanking the efforts made by the Prefectural Council of Agadir Ida OuTanane to make a success of this study day preparatory to the national debate.
A certain number of experts and professors moderated this study day, in the presence of elected officials as well as all the Ministerial Departments concerned by the issue of childhood and school dropout, without forgetting the actors of the civil society.
This event has experienced a remarkable interaction from the audience. The high-level exchanges led to the formulation of more than 60 recommendations on the importance of coordination and convergence of public policies on this matter, as well as the role of the Councils of Prefectures and Provinces in reducing the phenomenon of school dropouts.
